Energy Saving Grants
Carrying out energy saving improvements to your home may be quite inexpensive and very often you can do it yourself easily without any assistance. However, some can be quite costly and may require a specialist contractor so it's worth checking it there is some financial help available.
Help may be in the form of a grant, a subsidy or a loan and may be part of a national or a local scheme. Local schemes may be funded through your local council and are usually targeted at specific areas or improvement measures and may not last for long. National schemes tend to be directed by the government and delivered through energy suppliers such as Green Deal and the Energy Company Obligation and will usually have special conditions attached.
Sometimes equipment manufacturers will promote special offers in conjunction with an installer, such as a special central heating boiler offer, but it‘s always a good idea to get 2 or 3 quotes for any work you intend to have done just to check that you’re getting a fair price.
